Overview
About the Policy Research & Planning Division
The Policy Research & Planning Division is dedicated to developing forward-thinking policies that support sustainable tourism growth. It commits to evidence-based planning and decision-making, participatory and inclusive planning and budgeting processes, intensive consultations in policy formulation and review, and research-driven approaches in tourism development. The Division implements robust monitoring and evaluation systems and supports capacity building initiatives across the tourism sector.
The Division prepares the Ministerial Policy Statement (MPS) and Annual Work Plans, submits quarterly performance reports to MoFPED, develops the Budget Framework Paper (BFP), reviews and updates the tourism sector development plan every five years, produces research papers, maintains an M&E framework for all major projects, promotes tourism investment, and coordinates inter-governmental working groups.

These standards are set out in the Ministry's Service Delivery Standards (SDS) for FY 2024/25–FY 2029/30, aligned with Vision 2040, NDP IV, and the PIAP for the Tourism Development Programme.
