Introduction
The growth of Uganda’s tourism sector is partly dependent on the promotion of domestic tourism.
The tourism industry in Uganda is still lagging behind and this is attributed to the low domestic tourism promotion.
This calls for intensive campaign to promote domestic tourism such that the statistics of the Ugandans visiting their country can increase.
In an effort to achieve this and shine a spotlight on Uganda’s attractions in the various regions.

The Ministry launched a campaign aimed at promoting domestic tourism and popularising the national brand “Explore Uganda, The Pearl of Africa”.
The initial campaigns were carried out in the regions of Elgon, Western, Northern and Bunyoro which registered a great success.
To position the Busoga region as a destination of choice for domestic tourists
To leverage user-generated content for promoting domestic travel
To promote the National brand of Explore Uganda the Pearl of Africa to the domestic market.

Visiting and promoting the Key Sites in the Area – Cultural Sites, adventure sites, Community and Private Enterprises
Mobilization of stakeholders – Political leadership, local communities, tour operators, Students and the general public
Media coverage and content development for all media enterprises including mass, print and social media
Cooperate Social responsibility
