The prestigious Explore Uganda campaign is back for the 2024 leg.  This time round, the campaign will traverse destination Busoga dubbed the realm of Unity, discovery and shared adventure.


The Explore Uganda Campaign has seen several non-traditional destinations showcased.  The campaigns have traversed different regions of the country including the Elgon Region highlighting the Wanale Hill and the Sipi Falls, the Northern Region featuring Fort Patiko, Aruu Falls and Murchison Falls National Park, Western Region highlighting, Lake Mburo National Park, Eclipse Monument, Queen Elizabeth National Park and the Tooro Region and more recently Bunyoro region featuring the Albertine graben with the Kibiro Hotsprings and salt mines,  Butiaba Escarpment and Itosiya Forest. All these encompassing the diverse and rich cultural and natural attractions the country has to present.

The Explore Busoga campaign to run from the 13th to 18th February 2024 has been unveiled today at the Emin Pasha Hotel, Kampala by the Hon. Minister of State Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities, Hon. Martin Bahinduka Mugarra who commended Ugandans for embracing and actively participating in these #ExploreUganda campaigns which has created wide spread awareness of the many tourism offerings this Country prides in plus more local people embracing domestic tourism.


Several activities have been lined up include the Busoga Regional Investment Forum, tour of various sites including the Nile Brewery, the Nalubaale Dam, the Nalubaale Bridge, Nytil, Kakira Sugar Works, water activities on the Nile, Kagulu Hill plus a musical fete alongside the event.  The Minister invited everyone to join and actively participate in the planned activities and continue using all available avenues to promote their country. The campaign will also see a CSR activity carried out at one of the schools in the area.


The Mayor Jinja City-His Lordship Peter Kasolo and the Busoga Tourism Minister Hon. Hellen Namutamba couldn't hide their excitement of being privileged to host the Explore Campaign in the region which they noted as an opportunity that will go far into promoting Busoga as a region and it's unique tourism attractions/products.

The activity is being organised by the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities together with its Agencies in the Uganda Tourism Board, Uganda Wildlife Authority, Uganda Wildlife Research and Training Institute, Kasese, Uganda Hotel and Tourism Training Institute, Jinja, the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre Entebbe, Busoga Kingdom, Jinja City, Tour Operators and the Private Sector in Tourism.


The Explore Busoga leg of the campaign will be headlined by several influencers including popular artists from Busoga led by John Blaq, Ugandan renowned Kick Boxer in Golola Moses, digital influencers led by Derrick Senyonyi, the Miss Tourism Busoga Team, Miss Tourism Uganda to mention but a few.

The activity promises to be a worthwhile event that one needs not to miss as it takes one through the adventure capital of Uganda-Jinja to showcase the offerings of the Busoga region plus the rich and diverse culture therein
