CITES Permit application and processing goes online
With effect from 1st January 2022 all applications for CITES permits will be made online and the portal can be accessed on https://cites.tourism.go.ug/ or https://www.tourism.go.ug
The system has been developed with support from WCS under the USAID Combating Wildlife Crime Activity.
he system brings together all the Government institutions involved in CITES permitting i.e. MTWA, MWE, MAAIF & UWA and each party including the applicant can view action by the other in real time for accountability.
One can apply for a permit and also check authenticity from any part of the world using the system.
