Hon. Minister Graces Closing Ceremony of UHOA Hospitality Expo

The Honorable Minister of State for Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities (MTWA) officially officiated the closing ceremony of the UHOA Annual Hospitality Expo, held at The People's Space, Africana Hotel, from 1st to 3rd August, 2025.

The three-day event, organized under the theme "Innovation, Investment & Sustainability in Hospitality," brought together 112 key stakeholders from across the hospitality and tourism sectors. Participants included hotel owners and managers, travel and tour operators, policymakers, tech innovators, investors, and service providers from both within Uganda and beyond.

In his address, the Hon. Minister applauded the Uganda Hotel Owners Association (UHOA) for organizing “a first-of-its-kind event” that successfully brought together a wide range of players in the same space to showcase their products and explore development opportunities.

“This is a well-organized event, and we cannot be appreciative of the effort enough. This Hospitality Expo is a clear statement that tourism is flourishing and will continue to be a leading foreign exchange earner, thanks to such activities,” he remarked.

He further emphasized that tourism and hospitality are inseparable, with the latter forming the backbone of the former. The Minister pledged continued government collaboration with UHOA, offering support to ensure the growth and sustainability of Uganda’s hotel and hospitality industry.

The 2025 UHOA Hospitality Expo reaffirmed its role as a critical platform for industry dialogue, business development, and strategic networking, particularly with this year’s focus on sustainability and innovation as key pillars for building a resilient and future-ready sector.
