Ministry organizes a stakeholder engagement
On 6th June 2024, the Ministry organized a stakeholder engagement event at Hotel Africana
in Kampala. The purpose of this event was to discuss the new guidelines for the registration
and administration of tourism private sector associations in Uganda. Attendees included
representatives from both the private and public sectors, reflecting the collaborative nature of
this initiative. This activity aligns with the Ministry's mandate to supervise, monitor, and
coordinate the tourism sector effectively.
The primary aim of these guidelines is to streamline the organization, recognition, and
registration processes for tourism associations. By establishing clear and consistent standards,
the guidelines seek to promote self-regulation within the industry, thereby enhancing its
overall competitiveness. This structured approach will help ensure that associations operate
efficiently and adhere to best practices, ultimately contributing to the sustainable growth and
development of Uganda's tourism industry.
